Nils Larsen

Sea Captain

Nils Larsen, a Norwegian Sea Captain, is most known for his Antarctic excursions. Larsen was born in Sandar, Norway, and after earning his master's degree, he worked for a shipping company before becoming a famous whaler. Nils Larsen not only led several ships of his own, but he also served as a first mate on the Norvegia Antarctic expeditions. Norway subsequently gained annexation of Bouvet Island and Peter I Island during this scientific trip. Larsen was the very first person to step foot on the island.

Nils Larsen spends his time at home with his family when he is not at work. He has two sons and a German Sheppard with whom he spends a significant amount of time. They like surfing, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
